BambooHR is HR software first: employee records, time off, onboarding, performance reviews and payroll. Its applicant tracking system is one part of that suite. That matters when you look for an alternative, because there are two different questions:
- Replacing all of BambooHR? You need another HR information system, such as Gusto, Rippling, HiBob or Personio. This guide doesn't cover those.
- Only need to hire, or outgrew BambooHR's hiring tools? You need an applicant tracking system. That is what the six tools below are.

What BambooHR's applicant tracking costs
BambooHR now publishes its prices. Hiring is included in every plan, but only as part of the HR suite. Its pricing page shows no hiring-only plan.

Even Core, the cheapest plan, covers candidate records with resumes, ratings and custom application questions, posting to job boards and social networks, and email and offer letter templates. Onboarding tools differ by plan. Volume discounts apply automatically above 25 employees.
So a 15-person company that only wants an applicant tracker pays at least $250 a month, or $3,000 a year, and gets 5 open jobs. If you use the rest of BambooHR, that is good value. If you don't, most of that money pays for HR features you never open.
When to keep BambooHR
- You use it for HR. Keeping candidates and employee records in one system saves real work when someone is hired.
- You hire within its job limits. Five open roles on Core and 25 on Pro cover most small and mid-sized companies.
- You want one vendor and one bill for HR, hiring and, in the US, payroll.
If those apply, the cheaper move is usually to stay. The alternatives below make sense when you only need hiring, or when BambooHR's hiring tools are too basic for how you recruit.

If you keep BambooHR for HR and add a separate applicant tracker, check that the tool you pick can send hires into BambooHR, or you will copy new employees across by hand.
1. Jobspage
Jobspage is a careers page builder with a simple applicant tracker. You get a branded careers page at yourcompany.jobspage.co, a page for every job with your own application form, and a pipeline where you rate candidates and move them through hiring stages.
Price: free for 1 active job with unlimited applicants. Bootstrap is $19/month billed yearly ($29 monthly) for 3 jobs, Startup $29 ($49) for 10, and Business $79 ($129) for 20. See pricing.
Compared with BambooHR: much cheaper if hiring is all you need, and you can embed your jobs on your own website on paid plans. But Jobspage has no HR features, no onboarding, no job board posting and no integrations, so it cannot send hires into BambooHR.
Pick it if: you don't use an HR system yet, or you want a careers page and pipeline for a handful of roles a year.
2. Zoho Recruit
Zoho Recruit is a full applicant tracking system with a free plan that includes interview scheduling and email.
Price: free for 1 active job. Standard is €25 per recruiter a month billed yearly, with 10 active jobs per licence, a careers site, premium job boards, referrals, assessments and 50+ integrations. Enterprise is €50 per recruiter with 20 jobs and automation. No forced contracts.
Pick it if: you already use other Zoho apps, or want interview scheduling at a low price.
3. Breezy HR
Breezy posts to many job boards, builds a customisable careers site and automates pipeline steps.
Price: the free plan covers 1 active position with unlimited users, and keeps candidates added in the last 30 days. Startup, with unlimited positions, is $157/month billed yearly or $189 monthly. SMS is an add-on from $41/month.
Pick it if: you want more hiring features than BambooHR's module, at a published price.
4. JazzHR
JazzHR is built for US small businesses that rely on job boards.
Price: Hero is $1,000 a year. Plus is $3,480 a year with up to 200 active jobs, structured interviews and automation, and Pro is $5,508 a year. JazzHR is owned by Employ, which also sells Jobvite and Lever.
Pick it if: you hire mostly in the US and need more open jobs than BambooHR's Core plan allows.
5. Manatal
Manatal prices per user, not per employee, which suits a small team that recruits for many roles.
Price: Professional is $15 per user a month billed yearly ($19 monthly) for up to 15 jobs. Enterprise, with unlimited jobs, is $35 per user, and Enterprise Plus $55.
Pick it if: one or two people do all your recruiting.
6. Workable
Workable is a full recruiting suite, and it also sells an HR system as an add-on bundle, so it can replace BambooHR's hiring now and its HR side later.
Price: for 1 to 20 employees, Standard is $299/month billed yearly or $360 monthly, with unlimited active jobs, sourcing and custom reports. Premier is $599/month, yearly only. More in our Workable alternatives guide.
Pick it if: you outgrew BambooHR's hiring tools and want unlimited jobs and sourcing.

- You use BambooHR for HR and hire within its limits: stay, and use its hiring module.
- You only need to hire, a few roles a year: a free plan from Jobspage, Zoho Recruit or Breezy HR.
- You need more open jobs or better hiring tools than BambooHR's: Breezy HR, JazzHR or Workable.
- One recruiter, many roles: Manatal.
- Replacing BambooHR entirely: look at HR systems, not the applicant trackers on this list.
