Jobvite describes itself as built for complex hiring, and it is: a core applicant tracking system with optional modules for onboarding (including I-9 and E-Verify), employee referrals, recruitment marketing and an AI interview companion. It suits mid-sized and large companies that hire in volume across teams and locations.
The right alternative depends on why you are leaving. A company that wants a different enterprise suite needs a different list from a 20-person startup that simply bought more tool than it uses. This guide covers both, starting with one fact that changes the shortlist.
Jobvite, Lever and JazzHR have the same owner
Jobvite is part of Employ Inc., which also sells Lever and JazzHR. All three appear on most "Jobvite competitors" lists. They are separate products with different strengths, but if you are leaving because of the vendor (support, contract terms, the roadmap), switching to Lever or JazzHR keeps you with the same company.
How much does Jobvite cost?
Jobvite does not publish prices. Its pricing page asks for a quote and explains that you start with the core applicant tracking system and add modules such as Onboarding, the AI Companion and recruitment marketing. You pay for the modules you choose, so two companies of the same size can pay very different amounts.
Most of its direct competitors work the same way. Of the eight tools below, four publish prices and four are quote-only.

For mid-sized and large companies
1. Greenhouse
Greenhouse is the best-known alternative for teams that want structured, consistent hiring. Its plans are Core, Plus and Pro, all priced by quote. Core includes sourcing and a candidate CRM, structured interview kits and scorecards, scheduling, reporting and SSO. Plus adds texting, sourcing automation and a business intelligence connector. Pro adds audit logs, enterprise data controls and a developer sandbox.
Choose it over Jobvite if structured interviews and reporting matter more to you than built-in onboarding.
2. iCIMS
iCIMS is built for large employers with high application volume. Its product range covers an applicant tracking system, text recruiting, onboarding and employer branding, and pricing is through its sales team.
Choose it over Jobvite if you hire at very high volume and want text recruiting from the same vendor.
3. SmartRecruiters
SmartRecruiters targets growing and global enterprises and also sells a version for SAP SuccessFactors customers. Pricing is by demo and quote.
Choose it over Jobvite if you run SAP SuccessFactors or hire across many countries.
4. Lever
Lever combines an applicant tracking system with a sourcing CRM and sells a core platform with add-ons, priced by quote. Remember that it shares an owner with Jobvite.
Choose it over Jobvite if sourcing and nurturing passive candidates is the centre of your process.
For small and growing teams
If Jobvite is more than you need, these four publish their prices, and two have free plans.
5. Workable
Workable is the closest thing to a full recruiting suite with a public price. For a company with 1 to 20 employees, Standard is $299/month billed yearly or $360 monthly, with unlimited active jobs, a sourcing suite and custom reports. Premier is $599/month, yearly only, and adds texting, video interviews, assessments and referrals. The price rises with headcount. More in our Workable alternatives guide.
6. Breezy HR
Breezy covers job board distribution, a customisable careers site and pipeline automation. Its free plan includes 1 active position with unlimited users, and keeps candidates added in the last 30 days. Startup, with unlimited positions, is $157/month billed yearly or $189 monthly.
7. JazzHR
JazzHR is aimed at US small businesses. Hero is $1,000 a year with job postings and the applicant tracker. Plus is $3,480 a year with up to 200 active jobs, structured interviews and automation, and Pro is $5,508 a year. It is the third Employ product on this list.
8. Jobspage
Jobspage is a careers page builder with a simple applicant tracker. You get a branded careers page at yourcompany.jobspage.co, a page for every job with your own application form, and a pipeline where you rate candidates and move them through hiring stages.
Price: free for 1 active job with unlimited applicants. Bootstrap is $19/month billed yearly ($29 monthly) for 3 jobs, Startup $29 ($49) for 10, and Business $79 ($129) for 20. See pricing.
What you give up compared with Jobvite: almost everything that makes Jobvite enterprise software. Jobspage has no onboarding, referrals, texting, job board multiposting, integrations or advanced reporting. It is the right swap only if you were paying for a suite and using a careers page and a pipeline.
Which alternatives handle mobile recruiting and texting?
Texting candidates is one of the reasons teams pick Jobvite. Among the alternatives, Greenhouse includes texting from its Plus plan, iCIMS sells text recruiting as part of its range, and Workable offers texting as an $89/month add-on on Standard (included in Premier). Breezy sells SMS as an add-on to any plan, from $41/month. Jobspage does not offer texting.
