Workable is one of the most complete recruiting tools a small company can buy: unlimited active jobs, a candidate sourcing suite, a hiring plan, custom reports and an optional HR system. The catch is the entry price. Its cheapest plan costs $299 a month on a yearly bill, even for a company of five, and you pay for the whole feature set whether you hire twice a year or every week.
If that is more tool than you need, the six alternatives below cost less and publish their prices. All prices were checked on each vendor's pricing page on 1 November 2026.

What Workable costs in 2026
Workable prices its recruiting plans by company headcount. For a company with 1 to 20 employees:
- Standard: $299/month billed yearly ($3,588 a year), or $360 billed monthly. Unlimited active jobs (subject to fair use), the sourcing suite, a hiring plan and the custom report builder.
- Premier: $599/month, yearly billing only. Adds texting, video interviews, assessments and referrals.
- Add-ons on Standard: texting $89/month, video interviews $109/month and assessments $59/month on yearly billing.
The HR system (onboarding, time off, payroll preparation) is a separate bundle on top. Every plan comes with 3,000 AI credits for Workable's sourcing and screening agents, and more are sold in bundles. There is a free trial, but no free plan.
Older versions of this page, and many comparison sites, still quote a $129 pay-as-you-go plan. It is no longer on Workable's pricing page.
Where Workable is still the better choice
Be honest about what you are trading away before you switch:
- Unlimited jobs on every plan. Most alternatives cap active jobs per plan or per recruiter. If you run 30 roles at once, Workable's flat price can come out cheaper.
- Sourcing. Workable's sourcing suite and AI agents search for passive candidates for you. Of the tools below, only Zoho Recruit lists candidate sourcing on its entry plan.
- Reporting and scale. Custom reports, permission sets and nine languages matter once several teams hire at once.
If those three describe you, stay. If you hire a few roles a year and mostly need a careers page and a pipeline, read on.
1. Jobspage
Jobspage gives you a branded careers page at yourcompany.jobspage.co, a page for every job with your own application form, and a pipeline where you rate candidates and move them through your hiring stages.
Price: free for 1 active job with unlimited applicants, no time limit. Bootstrap is $19/month billed yearly ($29 monthly) for 3 jobs, Startup $29 ($49) for 10, and Business $79 ($129) for 20. See pricing.
What you give up: Jobspage does not post to job boards for you (jobs can appear in Google for Jobs, and each has a Share on LinkedIn button). There is no candidate sourcing, interview scheduling, integrations or reporting suite.
Pick it if: you want a careers page and applicant tracking for a few roles at a fraction of Workable's price. Paid plans can also embed your jobs on your own website.
2. Zoho Recruit
Zoho Recruit is a full applicant tracking system priced per recruiter, with a free plan that already includes interview scheduling and email.
Price: the free plan covers 1 active job. Standard is €25 per recruiter a month billed yearly, with 10 active jobs per licence, careers site, premium job boards, referrals, assessments and 50+ integrations. Enterprise is €50 per recruiter with 20 jobs, automation and custom reports. No forced contracts and a 15-day trial.
What you give up: costs grow with each recruiter you add, and its European pricing page lists euros.
Pick it if: you already use Zoho CRM or Zoho People, or you want job boards and scheduling for well under Workable's price.
3. Breezy HR
Breezy is the closest to Workable in day-to-day use: job board distribution, a customisable careers site, pipeline automation and candidate messaging.
Price: the free Bootstrap plan covers 1 active position with unlimited users, though it only keeps candidates added in the last 30 days. Startup, with unlimited positions, is $157/month billed yearly or $189 monthly.
Breezy HR vs Workable: Breezy costs about half as much and also has unlimited positions on its paid plan. Workable has stronger sourcing and reporting, and the optional HR system.
Pick it if: you want Workable's workflow without its price.
4. Manatal
Manatal charges per user rather than per company size, which suits a small team that recruits for many roles.
Price: Professional is $15 per user a month billed yearly ($19 monthly) for up to 15 jobs. Enterprise, with unlimited jobs and workflow automation, is $35 per user a month, and Enterprise Plus $55.
What you give up: per-user pricing gets expensive once hiring managers need their own logins.
Pick it if: one or two people do all the recruiting.
5. JazzHR
JazzHR is built for US small businesses that rely on job boards. It belongs to Employ Inc., the company behind Jobvite and Lever.
Price: Hero is $1,000 a year with job postings, the applicant tracker and email templates. Plus is $3,480 a year, about Workable Standard's price, with up to 200 active jobs, structured interviews and automation. Pro is $5,508 a year.
Pick it if: you hire mostly in the US and want premium job listings on a smaller budget.
6. Recruitee
Recruitee (Tellent Recruitee) is a strong collaborative applicant tracking system with multiposting, a careers site builder and email and calendar sync.
Price: not published. It is priced by plan and headcount, the entry plan (Start) includes 5 active jobs, and every contract runs for at least a year. When it last listed prices, the entry plan was about $185 a month on yearly billing. More detail in our Recruitee alternatives comparison.
Pick it if: you want something close to Workable's depth and are comfortable negotiating a yearly contract.
How to choose
- A few roles a year, tight budget: start on a free plan (Jobspage, Zoho Recruit or Breezy HR).
- Job boards matter most: Breezy HR, Zoho Recruit or JazzHR.
- One recruiter, many roles: Manatal.
- Already on Zoho: Zoho Recruit.
- Many open roles, sourcing and reporting: stay with Workable. Its unlimited jobs are hard to beat at volume.
