Greenhouse Alternatives: 6 Applicant Tracking Systems Compared

By Lisa GonzalezUpdated 4 min read

Greenhouse is the applicant tracking system many companies grow into once hiring becomes a process rather than a scramble. It is known for structured hiring: interview kits, scorecards and consistent decisions across many interviewers. It is also priced for companies that hire at that level, and it does not publish a price.

Whether you need an alternative depends on which part isn't working. A team that finds Greenhouse too heavy needs a different list from one that wants a more modern all-in-one platform. Both are below. Prices were checked on each vendor's pricing page on 1 November 2026.

What Greenhouse includes and costs

Greenhouse sells three plans, Core, Plus and Pro, all priced by quote after a demo.

  • Core: sourcing and a candidate CRM, structured interview kits and scorecards, interview scheduling, an AI notetaker, reporting and analytics, and SSO.
  • Plus: everything in Core, plus texting, sourcing automation, AI report filters and a business intelligence connector.
  • Pro: everything in Plus, plus audit logs, enterprise data configuration and security, and a developer sandbox.

Because every quote is negotiated, third-party estimates of Greenhouse's cost vary widely. The only reliable number is your own quote, so ask for the full first-year cost, including implementation, in writing.

Where Greenhouse is still the better choice

  • Structured hiring across many interviewers. Interview kits and scorecards are what Greenhouse is built around, and few alternatives match them.
  • Scheduling and reporting at volume. Built-in scheduling, reporting and, on Plus, a BI connector matter once several teams hire at once.
  • Governance. Audit logs, data controls and SSO on the higher plans suit regulated or larger companies.

If your hiring depends on those, the alternatives below are mostly a step down. If you are a small team paying for structure you don't use, read on.

1. Ashby

Ashby is a common Greenhouse alternative for fast-growing companies. It combines an applicant tracking system, sourcing with automated email and LinkedIn sequences, a CRM, scheduling and analytics in one product.

Price: the Foundations plan, for companies with up to 100 employees, starts at $300/month for 1 to 10 employees and rises with company size, with 10% off for a yearly commitment. Plus (101 to 1,000 employees) and Enterprise are priced by quote. Candidate texting includes 1,000 messages a month on Foundations.

Choose it over Greenhouse if you want analytics and sourcing built in and a published price while you are small.

2. Lever

Lever combines an applicant tracking system and a sourcing CRM in one platform, sold as a core product with add-ons, priced by quote. It belongs to Employ Inc., which also owns Jobvite and JazzHR.

Choose it over Greenhouse if sourcing and nurturing passive candidates is the centre of your process.

3. Recruitee

Recruitee (Tellent Recruitee) is a collaborative applicant tracking system with multiposting, a careers site builder, and email and calendar sync. It is priced by plan and headcount, does not publish prices, and every contract runs for at least a year. Its entry plan, Start, includes 5 active jobs. More in our Recruitee alternatives guide.

Choose it over Greenhouse if you hire mostly in Europe and want a lighter tool with strong collaboration.

4. Workable

Workable is a full recruiting suite with a public price. For a company with 1 to 20 employees, Standard is $299/month billed yearly or $360 monthly, with unlimited active jobs, a sourcing suite, a hiring plan and custom reports. Premier is $599/month, yearly only, and adds texting, video interviews and assessments. More in our Workable alternatives guide.

Choose it over Greenhouse if you want comparable breadth at a known price and unlimited jobs.

5. Breezy HR

Breezy covers job board distribution, a customisable careers site and pipeline automation. Its free plan includes 1 active position with unlimited users, and keeps candidates added in the last 30 days. Startup, with unlimited positions, is $157/month billed yearly or $189 monthly. SMS is an add-on from $41/month.

Choose it over Greenhouse if you are a small team that needs reach on job boards more than structured interviews.

6. Jobspage

Jobspage is a careers page builder with a simple applicant tracker: a branded careers page at yourcompany.jobspage.co, a page for every job with your own application form, and a pipeline where you rate candidates and move them through your hiring stages.

Price: free for 1 active job with unlimited applicants. Bootstrap is $19/month billed yearly ($29 monthly) for 3 jobs, Startup $29 ($49) for 10, and Business $79 ($129) for 20. See pricing.

What you give up: almost everything that makes Greenhouse Greenhouse. Jobspage has no interview kits or scorecards, scheduling, sourcing, texting, job board posting, integrations or reporting suite. It fits only if you were paying for Greenhouse and using it as a careers page and a pipeline.
